I recently just watched the movie Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. If you are unfamiliar with the movie, it is a sequel to the first movie Mamma Mia. It stars Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, and Lily James and the movie takes place in Greece on an island called Skopelos. The movie made up the name Kalokairi, but the island is actually called Skopelos. After watching the movie, I became very interested in visiting Greece. It looks so pretty there especially the architecture!!

Greece is located in between Europe, Asia, and Africa. The seas surrounding Greece include the Aegean Sea, Ionian Sea, Cretan Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea. This would explain why there were a lot of scenes with a bright, blue ocean in the background. Moreover, eighty percent of the island contain mountains and Mt. Olympus is the tallest mountain there.

The climate in Greece features mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers. There is snowfall every year in the mountains and northern parts of Greece. However, it can snow sometimes in the southern part as well.

The architecture were influenced by the ancient Greeks and include three different types of architecture: the Doric Order, Ionic Order, and the Corinthian Order. Also, a lot of the Byzantine architecture can be found in Greece. In the movie Mamma Mia 2, you can find plain houses usually painted white with colorful doors and windows. The homes are made of stone, brick, and clay. There is little to no yard in between the houses. In the movie, Lily James (also known as Meryl Streep) and Amanda Seyfried live in a house on top of a hill that has a path of stairs from the bottom to the top.

Greece is a gorgeous place to visit. If you are looking to visit somewhere out of the country with little to no people around, Greece is the place. There are a multitude of islands and most are not inhabited. I know I will be visiting Greece in the future!
